Fluid Card Animation in After Effects
Cuberto·Design Team·May 27, 2021·10 min read
Card-based interfaces are everywhere, but most feel static and mechanical. This tutorial shows how to add fluid, organic motion to card interactions using After Effects.
Building the Card Animation
We design a card component that expands, morphs, and transitions with liquid smoothness. Using a combination of shape layers, masks, and displacement effects, we achieve a result that feels alive and responsive.
Exporting for Development
The completed animation is broken down into implementable segments, with timing specifications and easing curves documented for developers. We also show how to export key moments as Lottie animations.
